Tomb Kings
Last year while visiting a game store, some miniatures caught my daughter’s eye. At home I remembered I had some old Warhammer and role-playing miniatures stashed away. While at the university, a friend insisted that I start playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle. I bought a second-hand set of Tomb Kings and played maybe one or two games. Most of the units were assembled but had only an undercoat applied. Back then, I did not bother to finish them. I decided to work on them with my daughter.
I bought Army Painter starter sets for paints and basing materials. I chose Army Painter paints over Citadel Colour because they come in handy dropper bottles. I chose a blue and yellow colour scheme for the cavalry and archers. For bases, I used Brown Battleground, Battlefield Rocks and Swamp Tufts. I did not apply any paint on the basing materials. My daughter chose a more colourful theme for her chariot, and she especially enjoyed glueing the tufts.

Painting the miniatures and preparing the bases was fun. Given it has been decades since I last painted anything, I am satisfied with the result. I have already painted some other miniatures, which I had lying around, and I am currently working on Slaves to Darkness Start Collecting! box. I will show the results in future posts.
I used a cheap light box from Amazon and a zoom objective to photograph the miniatures. My 45 mm prime would have better image quality, but it does not focus close enough. The light box was flimsy and already broken. I bought a more expensive one, which requires more effort to assemble but hopefully lasts longer. It also has superior lighting.
