Funicular railway near Heidelberg castle

Heidelberg has two funicular railways connecting the old town and Königstuhl – the highest point in the city. The railway in the photo is the modern one running between Kornmarkt in the old town and Molkenkur. From there the one of the oldest electrical funicular railways takes you to top of the hill. Together the both railways are the longest funicular railway in Germany. For further information visit the Heidelberger-Bergbahnen official site.

    1. Thank you for your interest in my blog and considering it for the award. Unfortunately, due extra effort coming from fulfilling award requirements, I have decided to keep my blog award free.
